Blackworm Care Suggestions
1. Upon arrival, place the worm mass in a bucket, tray, tank, etc., and thoroughly rinse them with water. Chilled, aged water is best. Rinse until water is clear and clean.
2. Once rinsed:
a. (Best) Place in container, and ensure the worms are no thicker than about ½”, with no more than about 1” of water above them. Put them in a refrigerator between 40-55 degrees F & do not cover (so they have air), and rinse once a day, preferably with aged, chilled water.
or, b. Place them in a shallow tank & keep some water running over them. They will not keep as well this way, as they are a cold water organism & like the lower temperatures much better.
Worms will loose weight the longer you keep them.
Best to order small orders more often than getting infrequent, larger orders.
