During the extreme coldest weather, the well water temperature stays at 75 degrees Fahrenheit and can be pumped into the cold ponds in an attempt to keep the ponds as warm as possible. Many tropical fish are sensitive to the cold weather and they will seek out the warmest areas of the pond for refuge.
