The hatchery basins can hold fry for long periods of time when pond space is limited for stocking fry in the field. Sometimes fish are grown to seller size in the hatchery. The pink kissing gourami in this photo are 5-6 weeks old. Pink Kissing gouramis may take up to 10-12 weeks to approach seller size.
